DESCRIPTION:The Washington International Renewable Energy Conference (
 WIREC) 2008 is a global platform for government\, private-sector\, and
  nongovernmental leaders to jointly address the goal of advancing rene
 wable energy.\n\nHosted by the United States Government\, in cooperati
 on with the American Council On Renewable Energy\, WIREC 2008 is the t
 hird global ministerial-level conference on renewable energy\, followi
 ng events in Beijing in 2005 and Bonn in 2004.\n\nBuilding on the succ
 ess of the previous conferences\, WIREC 2008 expects broad participati
 on at the Ministerial Meeting and other events\, including a Business 
 Conference\, Trade Show Exhibition\, and Official Side Events.\n\nWIRE
 C 2008 will address many forms of renewable energy\, including biofuel
 s\, solar\, wind\, hydro\, and geothermal energy. The conference will 
 focus on increasing the availability and use of renewable energy throu
 gh four primary avenues\: Agriculture and Rural Development\; Technolo
 gy/Research and Development\; Finance\; and Commercialization.\n\nWIRE
 C 2008 is the greatest opportunity to date to advance the priorities o
 f sustainable economic growth and climate change through renewable ene
